This home retains its original character whilst introducing a contemporary edge. The neutral palette and earthy tones are contrasted with accents of black to provide definition. By playing with textures and combining natural tinted oak furniture with natural soft fabrics, the home is given a touch of comfort and luxury. Existing terracotta flooring and wooden ceiling beams were painted lighter – a cost effective change that makes a huge difference, and brightens the space considerably. New features were added like a triple sided fireplace, which becomes a focal point for the open plan living space with the benefit of seeing the glow of the fire from more areas of the home; and bi-folding doors add a new dimension to the kitchen.
